Govt. of Odisha Higher Education dept. has invited application for eligible class XI Science for the award of Pathani Samanta Mathematics Talent Scholarship (PSMTS) 2025 for selected 1000 students. These students should be passed out from BSE Odisha Board from Odia medium and must be studying under CHSE board.
Objective Of PSMTS 2025
The School and Mass Education, under the Govt. of Odisha is providing the scholarship from the budget providing financial assistance to meritorious students. The increase the proficiency in mathematics among the higher secondary students in Odia medium Govt/Aided/ Recognized institutions.
Who are Eligible to apply For Pathani Samanta Mathematics Talent scholarship 2025:
The students those who have passed out from the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha and must have admitted to council of higher secondary education, CHSE, Odisha.
i. The scheme is only appropriate to students reading in Odia medium Higher Secondary Schools affiliated to CHSE, Odisha.
ii. There are no such parent’s income criteria for applying for the scholarship.
iii. If a student is qualified or getting any other scholarship, still this PSMTS scholarship will be available if qualified.

Merit Criteria for PSMTS Selection
The following factors will be considered seriously:
i. Fulfillment of eligibility conditions as mentioned above.
ii. The Principal/Head of the concerned higher secondary school / Institution should verify Online authenticate/validate the records of student.
iii. Final Merit/Selection list of 1000 students will be drawn in terms of aggregate mark > plus the marks secured in Mathematics in HSC Exam provided by BSE (O).
iv. In case of tie, the position of the candidate shall be determined by the mark secured in S.C.P.
General Criteria for Award of Scholarship
1. This program will be available online through the State Scholarship Portal Website (https://scholarship.odisha.gov.in).
2. The top 2063 students who passed the 2024 HSC Examination, as listed by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, can apply online through the State Scholarship Portal (https://scholarship.odisha.gov.in) if they are studying in Higher Secondary Schools affiliated with CHSE (O).
3. The application must be verified online by the Principal or Head of the Institution.
4. After the applications are verified, the Director of Higher Secondary Education (O) will award scholarships to the top 1000 students.
5. The scholarship funds will be transferred directly to accounts electronically to the selected students’ accounts. Each awardee must open a joint bank account with one of their parents.
6. The scholarship will not be renewed if the student discontinues or fails to promote to the next higher class (Class XII).
Project Understanding
To apply for the scholarship, eligible students need to follow the below-given steps
1. Registration: Go to the portal and click the Registration link. Only the top 2063 students who passed the HSC can apply.
2. Aadhaar Number: Enter your Aadhaar number and move to the next step.
3. User ID & Password: Check your registered mobile or email for your user ID and password.
4. Login: Click the login link on the portal and use your user ID and password to access the application.
5. Details: Provide all necessary information, such as personal details, academic records, eligibility, and bank information.
6. Save: Click “Save as draft” to save your information temporarily or “Next” to save and continue with the application.
7. Preview & Print: Review your completed form, then download and print it.
1. Aadhaar Requirement: Students need to have an Aadhaar or complete Aadhaar authentication to apply for the scholarship. If you don’t have an Aadhaar, visit an Aadhaar enrolment centre (list available at www.uidai.gov.in) to enroll.
2. If You Don’t Have Aadhaar: You can submit:
– Your Aadhaar Enrolment ID slip, or a copy of your request for Aadhaar enrolment.
– Any of the following documents:
1. Voter Identity Card
2. Ration Card
3. Driving Licence issued under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988
4. Certificate of Identity with your photo issued by a Gazetted Officer or Tehsildar
5. PAN Card
6. Any other document specified by the competent authority.
(If you don’t have an Aadhaar number, contact your Principal within the given timeframe for login details.)
3. Keep a Copy: Students should keep a copy of the application for future reference.
4. Validation: Applications that are not validated/authenticated by the Institute will be considered “Invalid.”
Procedure for Disbursement
Scholarship Eligibility and Payment
– To get the scholarship, students must meet the eligibility criteria, and their details must be verified by their school principals online.
– The scholarship money will be directly transferred to the student’s bank account by the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education using the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The scholarship awarded to any student under Pathani Samanta Mathematics Talent Scholarship is renewable if the awardee qualifies for promotion to higher class (Class XII).

Bank Account Requirements
– Students need an active joint bank account with one of their parents in any nationalized bank that has ECS (Electronic Clearing System) or core banking facilities.
– They should carefully enter their bank details, like the bank/branch name, account number, and IFSC code, to ensure smooth transfer of the scholarship amount.
Scholarship Duration and Renewal
– The scholarship is given for 10 months a year.
– It can be renewed for Class XII if the student gets promoted, and this will be verified online by the school.
– For renewal, the list of selected students from the previous year will be available in the principal’s login ID. Only students who continue in the academic year will be verified online. If a student has dropped out or not been promoted, the school will not validate their record.
Responsibility of Principals
– The school principal or head will be personally responsible for any mistakes in verifying the bank details provided by the eligible students.
The scholarship would be sanctioned subject to fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility criteria by the students and validation/authentication by the Principals of the concerned Higher Secondary Schools/ Institutions in online mode only. Scholarship will be paid to the selected students by the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) mode only and will be transferred to Bank account of the beneficiaries.
The students must have an active and valid joint Bank account in any nationalized bank which has Electronic Clearing System (ECS)/ Core Banking facility to facilitate transfer of scholarship amount directly to their account.
The Bank Account must be in the name of applicant and one of his/her parents. Students must enter their Bank/Branch name, Savings Bank Account number, IFSC code very carefully to ensure a smooth transfer of scholarship amount.
Duration of scholarship and its Renewal
A student eligible for the scholarship will be paid for 10 months in a year. Scholarship awarded to any student under Pathani Samanta Mathematics Talent Scholarship is renewable if the awardee qualify for promotion to higher class (Class XII), which will be authenticated online by the concerned Higher Secondary School/ Institutions.
List of Documents required for PSMTS
The following legible documents will be uploaded at the time of applying under the scheme.
i. Mark Sheets & Certificate of last qualifying examination i.e. HSC from an institution recognized by BSE Odisha.
ii. Aadhaar Card of the student concerned.
Bank Account details of the student concerned (First page of bank account containing account number and IFSC).
iv. College ID card issued by the concerned authority. While in the absence of the same, the student may provide Admission receipt/Library Card/Letter of Undertaking from concerned college authority (Anyone).
